NE- Heartland Ambassadors on how to be a good neighbour at Teck Ghee Vista, Ang Mo Kio.
As part of our school’s National Education (NE) programme, twenty Primary 4 NE-Heartland Ambassadors, played their part as an active and concerned citizen by spreading the messages of how to be a responsible heartland residents. On 21 April 2012, our young ambassadors dispensed advice to residents on how to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle, gave tips on saving water and electricity. These NE-Heartland Ambassadors also visit households and community events such as welcome parties and completion ceremonies to spread the message, advocating gracious and considerate neighbourliness.

Dressed in their NE-Heartland Ambassadors t-shirts, our ambassadors shared tips with not only the residents, but Ding Yong Khai, also got to share the tips he learnt with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the event!

A flushed faced Yong Khai said, “The most memorable part for me was speaking to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. He asked me how to be a good neighbour and I told him what I had learnt in school and at training.”

Echoing the sentiments of his fellow Ambassadors, Yong Khai enthused, “It is a great privilege and achievement to be able to spread such meaningful messages. It definitely boosted our confidence because we never had such interaction with people before. The experience will help us interact better with people.”
